Nintendo Hacker Busted for Child Porn Kept in Folder Labeled 'Bad Stuff'
Today, a 21 year-old hacker was sentenced to three years in prison for stealing confidential files about the Nintendo Switch back in 2017, as well as for keeping a s*** ton of child porn on his home computer.
The full sentencing document is available here, and explains all the crazy details of this case.
What happened to kids digging random holes in the dirt and then never covering them up, or just hanging out in front of a 7-11 for hours on end with nowhere to go?
For shame.

In 2016, 17 year-old Ryan S. Hernandez, a.k.a. Ryan West or RyanRocks used a phishing scheme to get a Nintendo employee's credentials and access the company's private files. -
2.
Ryan took confidential documents, mostly about the Nintendo Switch, and leaked them online before the console launched in March of 2017. -
3.
The FBI caught Ryan pretty quickly, but when they raided his house they also found more than 1,000 pictures/videos of child porn. -
4.
Finding his child porn was really easy because he kept it in a folder labeled "Bad Stuff." -
5.
Just today his case was finally closed. He's sentenced to three years in prison and seven years probation, and he had to pay Nintendo $250,000 in damages. -
6.
The moral of the story is that if you're going to hack a giant corporation, don't keep your goddamn kid porn on the same machine you hack with. Better yet, just don't look at kid porn to begin with. -
